About Helsa Thompson

Helsa Thompson is the Founder of The Aura House. She emphasized wellness and healing in BIPOC communities to address systematic racism and its impact on physical, mental, and emotional health in communities of color. With certifications in yoga, meditation, reiki, VST, and life coaching, Helsa strives to create safe spaces for others to heal, grow, and love themselves.  Helsa leverages her expertise in education and diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging to create inclusive spaces for wellness. In addition to her work at The Aura House, Helsa launched the non-profit, "Black Boys Meditate" with her sons, Michael, Jordan, and Jalen, to bring mindfulness practices to youth in underrepresented communities.Helsa graduated from the University of Southern California and the Harvard Graduate School of education, and is still deeply connected to her love for education. She is in the process of getting the Aura House approved to be a Yoga Teacher Training school, train yoga teachers through the lens of DEIB and informed yoga.
