• Storage and transport of materials through carbon nanotubes. We were the first to image liquid crystal wetting inside carbon nanotubes using the scanning electron microscope to study • Ferroelectric polymers to align liquid crystals: Developed voltage-controlled color switching for LCDs and color filters. Harnessed plasma modification of polymers for adaptive liquid crystal alignment (optical memories, switches)• Patterned Polymers and Liquid Crystals: Studied polymer morphology through experimental and simulations to predict liquid crystal alignment configurations on patterned substrates• Teaching Assistant: NanoEnlightenment, Fundamentals of Intelligent Systems, Electronic Circuits, Senior Lab, Research Experience for Teachers

Developed Monte-Carlo simulations for predicting liquid crystal alignment on patterned substrates. The designed codes can be extended to diverse systems including magnetics, and economics.NIST is one of the institutes, which provides good freedom to its employees for the projects. Also, its scientific outlook ensures that one is working with really good scientists/engineers. An invaluable experience for me.
