 The curiosity for plant life and Forestry, that developed mainly from the strong family roots in Himalayan region (hills) with agriculture and Forestry, has made me choose Forestry for the higher studies. After graduating and Post-graduating in bio-sciences and Forestry from the Kumaon University, Nainital (1987-1992). I worked with Forest Research Institute as a Research Fellow and contributed in projects,Himalayan eco- rehabilitation. I received Ph.D. in Forestry from Forest Research Institute, Dehradun. During this period I also worked in D B S college as a Senior Research Fellow in GBPIHED sponsored project ‘Conservation and propagation of three endemic, endangered and rare plant species of Saharanpur Shiwalik, Doon valley and lower Mussoorie hills’. After Ph.D, I worked with GBPIHED, Kosi- Katarmal, Almora as a Research Associate in In-house project of Watershed Management of Takoligad Watershed. After that again I joined Forest Research Institute as Research Associate in Ecology Department in Japan Bank of International Cooperation sponsored project ‘Long term impact of Four tree species in soil of Panjab Shiwalik. Then I joined Forestry Training Academy, Haldwani, Nainital as a Scientist and worked in the Silviculture of trees of Uttarakhand state and teach Forestry and Botany to Rangers, Foresters and other trainees in the Academy. After that I joined private limited company and work as Assistant Horticulture Officer. Then I’m selected as a Assistant Manager in International Fund Agriculture Development (IFAD) sponsored project ILSP (Integrated livelihood support project) run by the state department and worked as a Technical personal. At present I am serving as a consultant in Watershed Management Directorate in the same project (IFAD).
