The 15 months International post-graduate trainee program has trainees from different countries namely Brazil, China, Germany, India and United States, who are put to several actual projects and work challenges. The participants are required to travel to different geographic locations of ZF and work with various subsidiaries on four individual projects. It also involves a joint project where all Trainees work together. My project topics were as follows -• Business Development: Formulated & implemented a business process model for business development activities between cross-national locations using workflow chart & inputs from process owners resulting in tracking & streamlining of business activities.• Design and Development: Conducted clutch calculations & standardization project on off-highway system transmission using excel & Pro-Engineer resulting in master sheet for clutch safety factor calculation & potential cost savings from standardization of components.• Project Management (localization feasibility): Investigated the feasibility of localizing a transmission in India in collaboration with global cross functional teams by conducting a market study, identifying CAPEX, cost & revenue streams resulting in a business case aiding decision making.
