Department ManagerResponsible for the operations of a 20 employees in GC and Extraction departments. Scheduling daily production, making sure samples are process with in required turnaround and hold time, responsible in troubleshooting of instruments. Keeping track of re-extract and trouble shoot why it is happening and resolving the situation. Create and implement new methods like NJEPH, LVI extraction of aqueous sample and microwave extraction for soil. Preparing all working calibration, spiking/surrogate standard for daily use for analyst, record all reagent/standard in LIMS (TALS) and watching all expiration dates. Troubleshoot the matrix and guide analyst to perform their process. Training of all new employees and maintain training documentation, modify, review and monitor implementation of SOPs. Keeping inventory of material and standards and order them as required. Keeping track of recycle and waste solvent as that is a key factor for DEP/EPA audits and air quality/safety. Generate corrective action reports, assist in devising corrective action/preventive action plans and follow up on corrective actions. Generate non-conformance reports while doing 2nd level review of data if any. Prepare response for internal and external audit findings and responds to QA. Track and trend records statistically using control charts to achieve improvements.Create Laboratory Log Books, Review, Archive and store per Company policy. Monitor and maintain Demonstration of Capability, Precision & Accuracy studies and certify analysts.

Successfully created and implemented a NJEPH method of TPH analysis by GC. Managed and supervised Semi volatile GC Department analysis. Responsibilities include to control the flow of work by scheduling work with analysts, troubleshooting maintenance of HP 5890, 6890 GC instrument, make sure analyses of samples are within holding times/TAT, production planning, training of new employees and developed new shorter runs of analytic methods on instruments to save cost and increase efficiency by producing more samples per day. Generates reports & reviews them ,adds non-conformance if requires as per requirement of EPA and NJDEP. Detailed knowledge of EPA methods (8081, 8082, 608, 625, 8015), CLP (OLM04.3, OLC03.2) & SOM01.2.Guide staff for any special requirement for client’s need.

Manage purchasing for all kinds of lab supplies as well as Chemicals. Meet vendors and negotiate with them to get the best price for lab supplies as well as Chemicals, keeping track of inventory of lab supply as well as chemicals & place order as per laboratories need. Schedule pick up for the waste drums of hazardous solvent & non-hazardous soil.

Digestion of soil and water samples for Metals and Mercury analysis.Perform Mercury analysis using Leeman PS200II and PS200.Troubleshoot problems of Leeman PS200II, PS200, TOC analyzer, UV spectrophotometer. Detail knowledge of EPA methods, NYDOH, NJDEP and CLP requirements.
