CurrentHemp Gallery is an Australian company that utilises renewable hemp fibre to carry its message of environmental sustainability. As a classical pianist, I thought hemp was either drugs or a course fibre made into ropes and sails. Upon meeting my husband who first mentioned that hemp could be part of the economic and ecological solution to some of the challenges we face globally, I couldn't quite understand it until I looked into the history and information about the versatility of this plant, which I found out contains NO psychoactive THC. Instead, it can provide shelter, clothing, fuel, food and medicine while developing our rural regions, empowering Australian farmers, securing jobs, food, fibre and energy security for all Australians. As a founding member and recently elected president of the Industrial Hemp Association NSW for the third term, we are working to facilitate these issues. Back when we started Hemp Gallery, there were no decent products out on the market that showed hemp's true quality as a superior fibre, only drug related novelties! As a musician, married to a Kiwi lyricist who used to design and manufacture leather garments in his youth, decided to import hemp fabrics to start manufacturing products in Australia. Hemp Gallery now supplies 100% Hemp and Hemp blend fabrics for commercial and domestic interiors, soft furnishings, printing and clothing. We manufacture, wholesale, and retail online our exclusive Hemp bed linen and baby products in Australia.Hemp is grown in 40 days, without agricultural chemicals, has modest water requirements and leaves the soil in good condition for following crops. Hemp Gallery fabrics are processed using non toxic substances unlike those needed for cotton growing and bamboo processing. In addition to containing no residual agricultural toxins, Hemp fabric outperforms other "natural" and synthetic fabrics in the areas of strength, durability, insulation, breathability, UV resistance and absorbency.
