▪︎ Dr Hena Hayat is an alumnus of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana, which is India's leading agricultural university and pioneer in Green Revolution. She joined PAU as an ICAR nominee after qualifying national level test and held ICAR merit fellowship throughout her degree program. She has work experience at reputed CSIR and ICAR Labs. Hena has commercially successful IPRs in agriculture/ Biotechnology. ▪︎ Hena is NET qualified, and as an Assistant Professor she taught post graduate courses in Biotechnology at The Institute of Science, Mumbai (a Dr. Bhabha Institute). She holds a PG Diploma in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) which bolsters her credentials for protection of innovations. ▪︎The pursuit to provide the world with better food, renewable fuel, and contribute to sustainable agriculture led her to research on improvement of a green fuel with respect to its Bio-diesel characteristics & it's suitability as Sustainable Aviation Fuel. For this, she was awarded Ph.D. from Mumbai University and was a recipient of UGC merit scholarship during Ph.D. programme. ▪︎ The growing call for more environmentally responsible and sustainable societies through made Hena volunteer at a Defence NGO in Port Blair, wherein she educated, implemented and monitored 'Segregated Waste Management while heading the largest Centre. The project won the Prime Minister’s `Swachhta Hi Seva' , a team award under Swachh Bharat Mission. Hena was awarded letter for appreciation for her dedicated work and contributions. ▪︎ Dr Hena has done Post-Doc from CGPL, Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore, wherein she undertook Life cycle assessment of Green ammonia synthesis which can potentially be produced with net zero emissions.▪︎ Dr Hena is a recipient of Young Scientist award during the Karnataka State Agri Summit by ICFA in Sep '24.
