Mr. Henderson is a Senior Business Analyst working in law enforcement. Recent projects have included:* Providing business analysis services and quality assurance services in the agile development of public facing mapping applications utilizing Esri Experience Builder.* Gathering requirements and creating functional specifications for the Operations and Intelligence Command Centre. This involved documenting user stories and developing functional specifications for a mapping based intelligence software leveraging ESRI and Geocortex technologies.* Gathering requirements, documenting business processes, and creating functional specifications for a tablet-based detainee management system. This system leverages Google Material Design user interface technology to deliver tablet-based software for recording detainee services, such as meal and medication deliveries, wellness checks, phone call access, finger printing and bail hearings. * Documenting IT processes for updating the records management systems triggered by organizational changes.* Designing evidence management software for use across the organization. This included meeting with multiple law enforcement units, documenting existing business processes, then designing new business processes and reviewing how these will work with the client using system mock-ups.

Mr. Henderson provided Project Management and Business Analysis services to AMA Membership Services. Duties have included vendor management with a third party point of sale technology solutions provider, managing deployment of AMA Rewards technology to AMA partner organizations, and representing AMA at the national level with other CAA member clubs to set the direction of CAA loyalty technology in Canada.Mr. Henderson has also provided project management services in the enhancement of existing retail kiosk systems, to enable them to sell Cineplex movie tickets. Duties included stakeholder management, vendor management, managing the development of requirements specifications, system mock-ups and functional specifications, and system graphics. Mr. Henderson has also provided business analysis services in the development of new systems to support AMA membership retail services.

Responsibilities included performing basic project management functions including schedule development and update using MS Project, status reporting against established objectives, milestones, budget and resources, change management, risk management and issue management/resolution, for two projects:iBase Implementation Project:Working with a diverse set of stakeholders from the EPS Crime Analysis Unit, the EPS Business Intelligence Competency Center and EPS Informatics to determine business requirements and priorities for loading of intelligence data into the iBase system via the EPS data warehouse. Scott Henderson acted as both Project Manager and Business Analyst in the identification of priority data sources, management of technical staff in the design and development of ETL software using Informatica, plus deployment of the iBase intelligence platform. Two prior teams had failed to successfully deliver the system, creating a situation where the project was given a four month time-box to deliver in with no opportunity for schedule or budget extension. PIRAT Conversion Project:* Analyzing available COTS packages for evidence management, and providing documented support for choosing a single solution;* Working closely with a software developer in the design, testing and deployment of software for the conversion of evidence information from a legacy system to the chosen solution;* Gathering and documenting business requirements then creating functional specifications and system mock-ups for software to support evidence management within EPS property locker rooms;* Working closely with the business in developing and documenting new business processes to adopt once the conversion has taken place; and* Researching and integrating barcode technology for supporting evidence management best practices.

Provided business analysis services, including:- Developing and documenting IT and Telephony service desk processes as part of the EPCOR IT and Telephony service desk project.- Acting as liason between client and technical resources during testing of the online EPCOR service request system. - Providing consulting to improve software quality assurance procedures.- Working with clients to gather and document functional and non-functional requirements and specifications for a variety of geo-spatial applications.- Representing TELUS to external clients, and managing client relationships.- Developing and managing change requests to existing systems. - Overseeing system decommissioning activities, including change request development, costing, managing client relations and expectations.

Mr. Henderson’s responsibilities as Business Analyst included:Developing of deliverable templates for system functional specifications.Working with business representatives to gather and document functional and non-functional requirements and specifications for the Client Portal system. This is an n-tier web application developed with Microsoft .NET technology to allow Focus clients to view job statuses, retrieve plans for completed jobs, and access a GIS Mapping application via the Internet.Representing the interests of the business to the software development team.Developing Product Backlog documents and Iteration Plans (Scrum development process).Assisting the Program Manager with scheduling and budgeting activities for multiple projects.Working with the business to develop the System Uptake Model and User Community Model for Client Portal.

Mr. Henderson’s responsibilities as Test Lead included:Managing the system testing of the HL7 v3 Pharmaceutical Information Network (PIN) Mediator. The PIN Mediator is an n-tier data processing system which collects, validates and responds to XML pharmaceutical event messages from doctors and pharmacists across Alberta.Developing estimates and schedules using MS Project for testing activities.Managing a team of 9 test analysts, including staffing, issue resolution, change management, and daily monitoring of progress.Working closely with the UAT Team Lead to share knowledge and tools between the UAT and System Test teams, improving the chances of project success.Developing specifications for custom-built automated test tools for HL7 system-to-system message tests.Developing automated testing approaches to reduce the effort required to execute all tests against the PIN system.

Mr. Henderson’s responsibilities as Test Lead included:Planning the integration and system testing of the Alberta Continuing Care Information System (ACCIS). Developing schedules using MS Project. The ACCIS system is an n-tier web-based data processing system which processes XML submissions containing patient assessment information.Supervising the functional and system testing of the ACCIS system, managing a team of four testers, including staffing, issue resolution, change management, and daily monitoring of progress.Providing weekly status updates to the Project Manager, including detailed testing metrics to allow easy monitoring of the testing workflow, and assessment of system maturity.Developing estimates and schedules for testing activities.Responding to incidents reported by the User Acceptance Testing Team.Overseeing creation and execution of test scripts based upon business, functional and non-functional requirements.

Mr. Henderson’s responsibilities as Business Analyst and Test Lead included:Working with SMEs, facilitating JAD sessions, documenting existing business processes and rules, and developing new business processes, rules and specifications. This system is used by all employers of Alberta for creating and maintaining WCB accounts, and for creating annual return submissions. Documenting business process models and system models using IDEF0 and IDEF3 diagrams. UML activity diagrams were used in JAD sessions.Managing a team of four test analysts. This included creating estimates and schedules (using MS Project), managing issues and scope, monitoring and reporting on progress. Managing incidents (defects) discovered in the software, and providing weekly status report to the Project Manager to allow assessment of testing workflow and system maturity.Managing performance testing of the system, analyzing and documenting performance test results, and coordinating resources.

Mr. Henderson’s responsibilities as Business Analyst and Test Lead included:Working with the Underwriting team to design Releases 2 and 3 of the Loss Control Reporting system. LCR is a system which provides an extendible architecture for defining and executing reports against the data warehouse, then providing them to external users via the Internet.Gathering and documenting requirements, business rules and modeling business processes using UML activity diagrams.Leading JAD design sessions to create functional specifications.Documenting new business processes and the system model using IDEF0 and IDEF3 diagrams.Managing the testing of the system. This included implementing quality assurance processes, developing test schedules (using MS Project) creating and executing functional test scripts, performance test scripts, and analyzing, documenting and presenting test results.Providing training in business process modeling and the use of BP Win to the business team.

Mr. Henderson’s responsibilities as Development Manager and Business Analyst included:Leading a team of 13 developers in the development of an n-tier web-based system for managing and exchanging trade-related certification information. Activities included establishing and maintaining the project schedule (using MS Project) and budget, monitoring task progress, establishing project processes, and reporting progress to the Project Manager.Working closely with the Project Manager in preparation of a proposal for later releases of the system.Working closely with the client to gather and document requirements and business rules for part of the system.

Mr. Henderson’s responsibilities as User Acceptance Testing Coordinator included:Managing the user testing of existing applications and processes using Microsoft Office, Windows NT Server, and Windows XP Pro across the organization. Thoroughness in approach ensured a successful rollout of the new technologies.Developing the User Acceptance Testing schedule using MS Project, and managing client staff to ensure the schedule was being met.Creating user acceptance testing processes, training the business users on those processes, and managing execution of those processes.Reviewing testing results with client I.T. management.

Mr. Henderson’s responsibilities as PM and Test Manager included:Leading the Loans Origination and Amendment Development project from inception through to delivery of Release 1. Activities included resource selection for eight positions, project budgeting, scheduling (using MS Project), monitoring and reporting. This n-tier system was developed for use by three functional groups within AFSC, adding complexity to its design. LOAD Release 1 was delivered on schedule, under budget, with very high quality.Managing a team of three business analysts and three developers in design and construction of the system.Working closely with the client to monitor and report on progress, prevent scope creep and resolve issues.Managing the software testing process, including supervision of integration testing, and working with the user acceptance testing team to respond to incidents.

Mr. Henderson’s responsibilities as Software Engineer and Architect included:Within a team of 5 others, developing and documenting the requirements, architecture and data models for the Nereus Multimedia Publishing System, a collaborative database-driven multimedia production suite.With 1 other developer designing and implementing a database-driven collaborative multimedia-authoring tool.

Mr. Henderson’s responsibilities as Architect and Business Analyst included:Gathering and documenting customer requirements, business rules, and business processes using UML activity diagrams.Developing a flexible architecture and user interface for a multimedia magazine focused on oil exploration in the western basin. This allowed for non-technical staff to populate and modify the electronic magazine, which was delivered over a high-speed intranet throughout downtown Calgary.Creating data models to support the system.

Mr. Henderson’s responsibilities as Architect/Business Analyst included:Gathering requirements and documenting business rules from a remote client for the development of a multimedia service manual for network switching equipment.Designing an application architecture and user interface for the system. This system allowed non-technical staff to easily populate and modify the contents of this service manual without modifying the software itself.

Mr. Henderson’s responsibilities as Project Manager and Business Analyst included:Working with Lockheed Martin staff to gather and document requirements, identify business rules, then develop specifications for a prototype maintenance support system for the F-22 Joint Strike Fighter.Managing a 3-person team in the development of this prototype and overseeing the production of video segments and graphics for the project.

Mr. Henderson’s responsibilities as Project Manager and Business Analyst included:Managing 3 to 5 person teams in the development of multimedia service manuals for consumer electronics equipment.
