I am a Knowledge Management Officer at the Global Water and Sanitation Center @ the Asian Institute of Technology, where I manage and coordinate various projects related to wastewater treatment, sanitation and environmental engineering. As a Knowledge Management Specialist, I:1. Gather, analyze, and synthesize information from various sources such as research publications, best practices, policies, and roadmaps.2. Transform the information into clear and concise summaries that can be easily understood by others in the organization. 3. Ensure that organizational knowledge is captured, shared, and leveraged effectively to support decision-making and improve organizational performance.

As a dedicated project manager at the Asian Institute of Technology Testing Laboratory , I had the opportunity to establish a state-of-the-art test laboratory for prefabricated domestic wastewater treatment products. This included not only setting up the necessary equipment and infrastructure, but also navigating the complex process of obtaining ISO 17025 accreditation for the lab.I also had the opportunity to support the implementation of innovative Water Sensitive City and City-wide Inclusive Sanitation programmes in select Southeast Asian cities, working closely with local governments and stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of these programmes.In addition, I played a key role in supporting the Thailand Industrial Standard Institute and other standardisation bodies of ASEAN countries in developing a standard for testing prefabricated domestic wastewater treatment products. This included leading technical discussions and providing expert guidance on industry best practices.These experiences allowed me to hone my skills in project management, technical expertise, and communication, as well as gain a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the field of wastewater treatment and sustainability in Southeast Asia.

As a monitoring and evaluation specialist, I had the opportunity to lead the development and maintenance of a web-based National Water and Sanitation Information System (Nawasis)/ppsp.nawasis.info. This included creating an on-line platform to monitor the execution progress of sanitation strategies of participating cities, as well as building capacity of national and local government officers to manage data and monitor sanitation performance utilizing the system.I also played a key role in collecting and documenting lessons learnt from Provincial Sanitation Development Advisors on bridging planning to implementation, monitoring implementation, and providing assistance to provincial and city sanitation task forces. This included analyzing data and providing recommendations to national and local governments for improvements.Furthermore, I supported the alliance of cities in data management for the city sanitation index through ppsp.nawasis.info. This included measuring the performance of existing infrastructures, sanitation expenditures, and regulations to provide a comprehensive understanding of city sanitation performance.These experiences allowed me to develop strong skills in project management, data analysis, and capacity building, as well as gain a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the field of water and sanitation in Indonesia.

As an urban sanitation specialist, I had the opportunity to assist the city government of Banda Aceh in developing a comprehensive city sanitation plan. This included conducting city-wide sanitation mapping and identifying key areas for improvement.I also played a key role in building the capacity of the city sanitation team, through training and excursion to sanitation facilities. This provided the team with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively manage and improve the city's sanitation system.Furthermore, I developed an innovative awareness-raising program for household wastewater management, which was introduced in Friday prayers and Islamic schools. This approach allowed me to reach a wide audience and promote sustainable sanitation practices.Lastly, I assisted offices in the preparation of wastewater treatment technical designs for an abattoir, residential, and schools. This included providing technical expertise, guidance and support in the design process.These experiences allowed me to develop strong skills in project management, capacity building, and communication, as well as gain a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the field of sanitation in Banda Aceh

As a project manager, I had the opportunity to set up BORDA Philippines Office and initiate partnerships with local organizations and local government units to promote Decentralized Wastewater Treatment Systems (DEWATS). This included building capacity of local partners regarding DEWATS approaches, developing procedures of operation and maintenance as well as guidelines for design and construction.I also played a key role in transferring knowledge of conducting a feasibility study, developing a preliminary design, developing a detailed engineering design and bill of quantities, construction supervision and post-construction monitoring of DEWATS to partners’ engineers. This included providing training, mentoring, and hands-on experience to local engineers and technicians.Furthermore, I had the opportunity to up-scale network as well as provide water and sanitation related expertise to donor agencies in the Philippines such as ADB, FAO-LEAD, GTZ, USAID and World Bank. This included creating and maintaining a project database management system to ensure accurate and timely tracking of project progress.These experiences allowed me to develop strong skills in project management, capacity building, and technical knowledge in sustainable sanitation, as well as gain a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the field of sustainable sanitation in the Philippines
