I was responsible for the management and running of the Restaurant- Steakhouse.Marketing( As it was a small town, external revenue was sourced with promotions to regular tour buses and tourist with theme evenings to keep the local customers exited). Procurement (It was important to source the right quality meat, from service and quality orientated butcheries and ensured that they procured the meat from certified abattoirs).Human Resource Management(Training and development was important for quality service and quality food as to comply with and exceed franchise standards).Financial Management.Administration (Overseen all administrative processes).The seating was expanded by nearly 30% Spur Franchise is one the biggest and most sought after and popular Restaurant franchises in South Africa with franchises internationally. Although the experience was a huge learning curve and invaluable, the restaurant was sold as it was not a perfect fit into the Protea Group of Companies.

We established at great cost, the first Accredited Training Centre for Fuel Technicians in the Mpumalnage Province with Merseta, to develop our staff, to contribute to our culture and high service standards. Marketing the Karino filling station to corporate and farming customers (commercial customers) was important because the regional road infrastructure changed and redirected passenger market away from our filling station. Extensive marketing programs attracted the previous passenger market lost. We had to develop procurement and delivery models to address delivery challenges because of the filling station located remotely from the main delivery routes of our supplier.
