Since 2005 I am an independent entrepreneur in gaming with our own company rcp, still being the bossmob. I learned my trade playing games since I was 4 years old, sold games for years (my first less official venture as a kid and later in a store), writing about them during university and finally nearly 5 years of Take2 Interactive where i experienced a lot, contributed 1% of the yearly revenue in a more rogue operation sanctioned by my direct bosses and also quite understood better what could go wrong and shouldnt be done; i call it the best paid education ever. When we started rcp in a souterrain (fancy word for basement) we wanted to empower developers while making better games with a sustainable process. Now rcp is 30 kick-ass people and the whole group of studios under the rcp family umbrella is around 450 game makers in multiple countries. I also decided early on that I could only do this in my home town if we also change perception of the industry as a whole; so I am an avid lobbyist/politician for games in Bavaria (MD of "GBM") and also on an European level (president of "EGDF"), support a lot of educational initiatives (ex. currently the chair of production at S4G in Berlin), founded the biggest German speaking game culture club, own 2300 games on steam (pretty decent % of played :) ) and started pro bono mentoring startup founders from other industries >7 years ago.
