CamVolt develops innovative solutions for precise mechanical stack pressure control in pouch cell battery testing to improve lifecycle performance.

My research focuses on two key directions:1. The design and construction of an in-situ characterisation tool (dilatometry) to understand the mechanical and chemical processes happening while cycling battery materials.2. The development of scalable (R2R-compatible) processes to fabricate high areal-loading thick electrodes for Li-ion batteries.

• Grew a student design community in 3 years from 2 people to over 1000 student members, delivering innovative solutions for 16 industrial clients and sponsors• Built and coordinated Business Acquisition, Skill leads, Operation, Branding and Web development teams between the Cambridge chapter (from Jan 2019) and the London chapter (from Nov 2022)• Incubated over 40 student-led projects through annual events such as SCRUM Design Camps, Student Design Tournaments and workshops, inviting over 20 industry leaders and world-renowned academics as judges and mentors• Acquired & managed external clients and sponsors (e.g. Addenbrookes NHS Hospital, Dyson, SolidWorks, etc.), enabling £20k of sponsorship (& growing)
