Dr Henner Kampwerth is the 'ACAP Optics and Characterisation Program Leader' at SPREE, University of New South Wales, Sydney. Together with his company 'Open Instruments' he focusses exclusively on the development and commercialisation of high performance material characterisation techniques.

For the past years as a characterisation leader at UNSW, I was frustrated that some characterisation equipment and components were commercial not available. Thus I started to design larger equipment and to make urgently needed adapters at home overnight. In 2014 I decided to move further into the field of small equipment manufacturing.
