As a former IT manager I lived through the challenge of hiring the right people. Inspired by this experience I work on two related projects:1. I analyze millions of job postings daily and turn them into a job market search and discovery platform. It is essential for students and job seekers to understand what jobs are available together with skills and education requirements. 2. I help students learn how to get a high paying job. There are three areas students need to master: Be familiar with the job market, be an active networker and promote yourself. I start in high school helping students discover the value they can add to other people's projects with their growing skill set. With that knowledge they learn to find and connect with people who potentially are in need of their skills. Self promotion plays a critical role to broadcast available skills and expertise which builds trust with their audience. Most jobs are filled through networking and not by applying online. Companies hire people they trust to do the assigned job well. The pathway into a high paying job is through a network of personal relationships that has learned over time about the value a student can add as an entry level employee.
