Delegated to approve applications for environmental authorisations (EIA) in terms of the National Environmental Management Act (!998) and subordinate Regulations, and provincial planning applications in terms of the Western Cape Land Use Planning Act (2014) and subordinate Regulations.Key performance areas:- Promotion of integrated governance to deliver on the mandate of the Department, by ensuring the integration of environmental and planning objectives in national, provincial and local government planning. This includes the development of legislation, policies, norms, standards and guidelines for environmental impact management and land use management for provincial and local spheres of government.- Administration of all environmental and provincial land use applications, including authorisations and appeals.- Advise, guide, monitor and build capacity for public and private clients to achieve ecologically sustainable development.As part of building the professional profile of the Department, I also present modules on environmental management/planning for Master's degrees at Stellenbosch University and the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, supervise Master's students, and serve as internal examiner for Master's theses in the School of Public Leadership at Stellenbosch University.
