Heading up cell therapy technology development for BMS including Cell Therapy Drug Product Process Development, Analytical, Development, Gene Delivery/Vector Development, Clinical Manufacturing and Manufacturing Science and Technology. Privileged to be working with the best people in the industry at the only company with two approved autologous cell therapies, and with an incredible portfolio for the future patients in need of innovative treatments in the hematology, solid tumor, and auto immune disease space.

Overall responsibility for the Biologics Development function, strategy, and activities as they relate to cell line, process, and analytical development and clinical manufacturing for the for the BMS portfolio of about 40 biologics. Scope includes oversight of development activities in New Brunswick & Summit West (NJ), and in Cambridge & Devens, (MA), along with clinical manufacturing in Summit West (NJ) and through external partners. The Biologics Development function at BMS is comprised of about 350 highly talented and motivated scientists, engineers and other professionals advancing one of the most diverse biologics portfolios in Biopharma. Overall responsibility for manufacturing science and technology as it relates to all global commercial manufacturing sites for biologics drug substance in the BMS network. Team of about 200 is distributed in Cruiserath, Ireland, Devens, MA, Syracuse, NY, and Hopewell, NJ and include upstream and downstream laboratory groups, global functions (process modeling analytics, raw material science, cryogenics/transportation science, microbiology/virology, technical writing team, and process life cycle management), and manufacturing technology teams supporting internal and external sites.

Responsible for early stage PD network, microbial center of excellence as well as managing general site functions (Facilities, Finance, HR, Lab Ops, IT). Led the transition of the site from broader and Discovery/Development site to a more focused Biologics Development network site. During this time also sponsoring speed to patient/Fast to FIH initiative and chairing Integrated Biologics Technical Review (Global biologics technical governance).

Responsibilities included leading the early biologics process development team for the overall BMS network, leading the microbial center of excellence based out of Seattle (development and MST activities for biologics produced in microbial systems), establishing fast to FIH timelines for biologics, and co-chairing Integrated Biologics Technical Review governance for BMS.
