Kids, work, social obligations, exercise, taking care of your health; financial accounts involving a myriad of different institutions: a brokerage, 401K, restricted stocks, checking account(s). Self-directing your finances comprehensively requires attention to detail. That’s why I chose to enter the financial strategy space: To help. We start small, building trust as you offload tasks to me. My goal is to help create more freedom in your life through managing your wealth and assets, while also creating time-saving and advantageous relationships with your current financial partners (i.e., your accountant). I draw upon a deep reservoir of personal and market experience to find solutions for clients when financial challenges arise. I’ve navigated clients through three bear markets, an era of unconventional monetary policies, and rapid change in global economic leadership.The seeds of my career in finance were sown when I was in college and my parents began planning for their retirement after my graduation. On my dad’s visits to me at Brown, we’d discuss stocks over lunch. I derived a great deal of satisfaction from helping my parents, and felt it was a way to give back to them since they had invested so much in my education.After graduation I longed for that same sense of fulfillment. Ultimately this drove me to start my career as a financial advisor at UBS PaineWebber in 2001. I was mentored by some of the brightest people there, as the field itself was evolving.In this same time period, I have also been raising two young children, supported my late wife through a major health crisis, and dealt with her loss.
