My position in back office was focused mainly on the Danish market, but I also helped in various areas of the other countries. At the department we were six people, one responsible per each of the Nordic countries and two persons who handled the routine management of all countries. My job was to ensure that customers received the discounts and bonuses agreed in their contracts. It meant I was responsible for building up discount structure for all customers in Denmark, and to ensure that each customer had the right conditions. I created and secured the payment of bonuses for the right goods, with the right percentage to the right customer, at the agreed time. It was a complex process due to different ways to group customers, depending on which product line the customer’s spend belonged. All these tasks were performed in an own developed system, which covered everything from manufacturing, inventory management, order processing, invoicing and delivery. The everyday tasks were many, but included to ensure that all invoices were issued correctly, they could get stuck in the system by a variety of reasons. Most often it was relatively trivial errors, but sometimes the error must be analyzed thoroughly before a cause could be found, sometimes with the help of support from France. Simple adjustments and credits were performed on a daily basis, for different reasons. A large part of the work was to deal with questions from the field, from customers and the call center. It could be by mail, but mostly they called me directly, so that I quickly had to find an answer to their question. I was involved in a lot of projects, including new systems that were implemented or new releases of existing systems.
