Led the Intelligent Horizontal transportation Solutions business line at Kalmar. We were delivering the iconic Kalmar Straddle- and Shuttle carriers which are the most eco-efficient and safe solutions for horizontal transportation operation at container terminals. My responsibility covered all areas from R&D to maintain customer satisfaction and everything in between. I had profit and loss responsibility of the unit.

Worked as the head of the equipment team for Kalmar Straddle- and Shuttle Carriers. Together with the team developed the machinery in the container handling industry to more sustainable solutions for a better tomorrow.

Tampere Area, Finland

Received responsibility on a bigger team working on research, development and engineering of Kalmar Straddle- and Shuttle carriers. Team developed and delivered among other tasks customized automated guided vehicle project of 18 vehicles in 14 months. This was a continuity order from earlier prototypes and included development, assembly, testing and delivering the vehicles.

I started my leadership journey and led the R&D team for Kalmar Straddle and Shuttle carriers. From my work I received very good anonymous feedback about my style. I also launched Kalmar FastCharge solution to the market as industry first totally electrically powered solution, which later on accumulated series of other launches.

Worked as a Product Manager in Kalmar Horizontal Transportation business line. I had product ownership and responsibility to develop technology and development roadmaps. I also worked on the pricing and cost calculation.As a separate task I had project management responsibility to execute a prototype AGV (automated guided vehicle) delivery to Singapore. This project was received as delayed but after my work handed over to customer on time and in budget. Scope include own vehicles as well as competition hardware.

Finland

Worked for sourcing tasks at local assembly plant in Tampere. Responsible are covered sourcing and supplier negotiations on several different component categories. Signed many agreements, which generated better supplier relationships and financial benefits. Developed also better delivery accuracy for incoming goods and solved few technically very complicated quality cases.After few years responsible sourcing area was expanded to cover also some Cargotec plants in Sweden and Poland. Eventually, I ended up being globally responsible for Kalmar business area casting, forging and cooling categories. Work included a lot of travelling and cooperation globally. Global responsibility had very good results with clever category strategies. The essential work done during these years will give all Kalmar business lines a very good basis to continue successful sourcing.

Finland

I worked as production engineer on the underground drills business area. During this time the responsible area was developed into a well-defined and structured process delivering better accuracy and quality. Responsible area covered management of all subcontracted assembly related processes including supplier management.

Tampere Area, Finland

Created information management system definition in order to optimize patient logistics in a university hospital. Received excellent grade for the work and it raised interest also on other hospitals to benchmark.
