Currently based in Berlin, I combine academic and practical insights as a Professor of Interaction Design and Visual Communication at Berlin International University of Applied Sciences. The approach of combining classical graphic design practice with critical design practice and the integration of AI, AR and physical computing makes BI‘s program unique in this field. In 2023, my academic role expanded to co-heading the Graphic Design program. Before this, I spent six years teaching design at various institutions including Berlin International UoAS, University of Applied Sciences Magdeburg, and University of Applied Sciences Potsdam.My move into academia followed a 17-year journey in the creative sector. Much of this time was as a Creative Director, where I worked with renowned clients such as Audi, Merck, E.ON, Neato, and Vorwerk. This body of work didn't only earn awards like the iF Design Award, the red dot Design Award, and the German Design Award, but also influenced my approach to guiding the next generation of Design Thinkers.
