Main attributions: In charge of 6 environmental analysts with the responsibility to support the decision making by the Minister of Environment on all fisheries in Brazil, including discussing, planning, raising funds, supporting, and managing the implementation of:• International agreements or ongoing discussions that are related to fisheries management or fish conservation, such as CITES, COFI-FAO, ICCAT, and others;• National environmental projects related to fisheries management or fish conservation;• Initiatives of monitoring, research, enforcement, and management implemented by partner institutions, including programs of fisheries statistics, vessel monitoring systems and traceability of fish along the custody chain; and• Supporting research for the mapping of priority areas for the creation of “no-take” zones for fisheries in the Brazilian Coast (GEF-MAR project, ongoing).Main achievements: • Coordination of the team in charge of the development and implementation of 9 recovery plans for 23 endangered fish species who have fisheries between their main threats (implementation ongoing);• Collaboration with the team of specialists of the United Nations Centre for Trade Facilitation and Electronic Business (UN/CEFACT), aimed to help in the implementation of UN Fisheries Language for Universal eXchange initiative (FLUX initiative, ongoing);• Coordinating the development and implementation of the control measures for the first fisheries managed by capture quotas in Brazil (Brazilian mullet, Mugil liza).

Main attributions: From 2013 to 2017, I was in charge of the unit with 13 environmental analysts and technicians with the responsibility to support and to implement the initiatives related to all fisheries in Brazil, especially those of regional, national or international scope, which includes:• Coordination of Initiatives in more than 20 Brazilian states, monitoring, controlling, and reporting results and budget for those actions;• Implementation of International agreements or ongoing discussions that are related to fisheries management or fish conservation, such as CITES, COFI-FAO and ICCAT;• Supporting the evaluation of environmental impacts related to fish or fisheries on strategic projects of environmental licensing.Additionally, before and after 2013, besides the coordinator attributions, I supported the planning, discussing and implementation of initiatives related to the following topics:• Fishery management of ornamental and freshwater fisheries;• Evaluation of innovative solutions for monitoring and controlling of international commerce of fisheries resources under control of environmental authorities;• Controlling and monitoring of invasive aquatic species; • Institutional capacity building, as an instructor for fisheries management and enforcement at IBAMA internal courses;• Developing and managing databases to support the licensing of import and export of fisheries resources under control of IBAMA;Main achievements: • Leading the development of the “Fish Document of Origin” (DOP project), a national fisheries resource traceability system, aimed to support sustainable management of fisheries in Brazil (ongoing);• Participating on the evaluation and analysis of the first pack of data raised after the “Mariana mining disaster”, which produce subsidies to the legal decisions soon after that environmental disaster;

Main achievements: • 2nd place in the civil service examination for the Environmental Analyst position in 2005 (1.876 candidates)• Leading the evaluation of biological and environmental aspects of more than 1 thousand species for use in ornamental fisheries, in partnership with Academia in Brazil• To lead the development of an innovative quota system for fisheries and trade of freshwater stingray in Brazil.
