Service Manager at private healthcare business.

Full-time MRI specialist with a role in customer service, PACS management and teleradiology services.

This was my first permanent position as a radiographer. My main responsibility was performing plain x-ray and dental x-ray examinations with computed radiography equipment. Other major responsibilities were quality control and student guidance.This job allowed me to really hone out my skills in plain x-ray. I also learned to cope with sometimes sub-par equipment.

I worked as a radiographer in the department of radiology in Lapland Central Hospital. My main tasks were performing plain x-ray, ultrasound, computed tomography and MRI examinations. I routinely participated in emergency duty, as the radiology department is manned 24/7.I had a special responsibility of quality control in the Lapland Hospital District - this included the quality control in the department itself, but also meant some traveling to small x-ray facilities in other locations. Our quality control team included two other radiographers and a medical physicist.This job gave me vast and varied experience in different imaging modalities, and the emergency duty boosted my confidence as a radiographer. Quality control experience I received was also invaluable.

I worked part-time as a MRI specialist in Mehiläinen. I operated a GE 1.5 tesla MRI machine and participated in patient care and customer service. I got great experience in performing high quality MRI examinations and also learned a lot about cooperation with radiologists.

Alongside my studies I worked as an operations manager for Oulun Seudun Hengitysyhdistys ry. My main responsibility was to manage the cloakroom and usher service in Oulu Music Centre. This included human resources, planning, customer service, security, cash handling and communication with the clients. I was the supervisor of 15-20 people.As one of the most invaluable experiences in my working career, this position taught me a huge lot of things in work and in general. I was able to build good social skills, learned a lot about workplace dynamics, and made a punch of very good friends.

I worked with Varian linear accelerator in the department of radiation therapy in Oulu University Hospital. My key responsibilities were patient care and operation of the accelerator. I also had a minor role in student guidance.
