My aim was to decrease drug development time for the virus and establish new drug development targets. I identified key research questions to be investigated further by a Masters student as a project the next year.

Retroscreen specialises in conducting Phase Ib clinical trials for new drugs targeting respiratory viruses using the “human challenge model”; infecting volunteers with an attenuated virus in a quarantined facility. As part of a team, I helped interview & examine potential candidates for several trails, to assess their suitability from a clinical perspective, including doing blood draws and running screens for influenza antibodies. Working within a team, I helped collect and analyse samples during the process of trials according to the client’s specifications.Recording and reporting analysed results in order for them to presented to clients.
