I have been in the HBC, General Merchandise Grocery, and perishable/frozen for 25+ years through various Brokerage companies as well as managing departments with sales reps working for me. I was fortunate to have some manufacturers follow me when Marketing Specialists went under. I was then able to open my own brokerage company as well as working as an account executive for another major national brokerage company. I cover some major grocery chains as well as a group of wholesalers. When I came out of college, I went into partnership starting the first bottled water companies in Charleston, South Carolina. We had a full service company anywhere from home delivery to selling and installing water coolers in businesses. our largest line was Mountain Valley Water, as well as Perrier, Evian, and San Pellegrino. We also carried a spring water out of North Carolina. .After that I started as a retail representative working manufacturers lines at store levell for food brokerage companies and started moving up in various grocery positions any where from selling and merchandising gourmet foods and then started moving into management.
