Process engineer for an 8 inch and 9 inch extrusion press. I spec out and purchase new process equipment and procedures with regards to: Quality controls/inspection, temperature controls, and process strategy/Management. Implementing preventative maintenance procedures. I am involved in the process from the die shop to the production floor on a day-to-day basis implementing 5S, process management, I am also the Alcoa representative for Contractor Safety at our location.

During my internship I spent the first 3 months getting to know the product and process, conducting time studies to aid in production planning and cost control. I then transitioned into the Anodizing department where I picked up on a project to add the acid etching capability to the anodizing process. This included the replace five of the process tanks with four new double bay tanks (all 35 ft long and ~10k lbs empty) I planned the relocation of the load and unload station (a 3200 sqft one piece steel structure) as well as the layout and locations of the new tanks and concrete tank pads. On the Waste Water Treatment side, I was responsible for the layout and installation of a new low pressure boiler to replace the natural gas burner tube heaters used previously; and the addition an acid fume air scrubber ducted from the new acid tank using 42 inch diameter PVC ductwork. The project install was 10 days over an extended new years shutdown, where I was the night shift contractor supervisor. Once w econcluded this project, I moved to the Extrusion department when I learned how to use the Isothermal process control software that we use and got to know the process as well. I currently act as the Extrusion Process Engineer, and location Contractor Safety SPA.

The satellite we are designing has to manuever through space and approach Resident Space Objects (RSO) in order to take IR, and 3D images of the object in question. The University of Arkansas team has been tasked with designing the in-space propulsion system.
