Program Assistant, Research Review And Support
Washington D.C. Metro Area
I worked on the Research Review and Support team to ensure the accuracy of data and research produced by the project teams at the Pew Charitable Trusts. These data checks would typically involve replicating the statistical analyses of research teams. This task required a great attention to detail, and an ability to quickly develop an understanding of the diverse range of projects being worked on at Pew, such as state fiscal policy, economic mobility, ocean and fisheries conservation, food safety, and substance abuse prevention.I was also embedded in the Retirement Savings project team. In this role, I performed in-depth research assistance on fee structures and determinants of participation in private retirement savings plans through the analysis of large datasets. My job as a Program Assistant also entailed participating in meetings where a project team's proposed methodology would be evaluated by Research Review and Support, and I would often produce the first draft of the resultant feedback form.My tasks required frequent use and understanding of Stata, Excel, Tableau, and statistical methods.
