The son of an artist/architect and a doctor, Henry’s upbringing was a mixture of chaos and control. Their home, a converted tripe factory, was an extension of Richard Goodwin’s Art and Architecture practice, bursting at the seams with drawings, parasitic sculpture and machines. Henry’s childhood within this environment, as well as curiosity for everything it entailed, are the foundations of his design thinking.Henry graduated from the University of Technology, Sydney in 2015 with a Bachelor of Design and Master of Architecture. In 2013 Henry joined Cracknell and Lonergan Architects gaining six years of invaluable experience under the guidance of Peter Lonergan and Julie Cracknell. In 2018, Henry founded Goodwin Scarfone Belgiorno-Nettis (GSBN) with Robert Scarfone and Alessandro Belgiorno-Nettis, a small practice focusing on dynamic architecture that shifts and evolves to suit multiple users an programmes over time, countering the static built environment that surrounds us. Henry is a Registered Architect in NSW, holds a Class 2 registration and is an AIA member. Henry’s work is characterised by his creative approach to all projects. His ideas are boundless and often seem far fetched, yet are acutely linked to the requirements of a client and their site. Leading the design across all projects at GSBN, Henry is dedicated to creating buildings and places that enrich lives and enhance the public domain.
