With over 15 years of experience as a collaborative senior leader and advisor, my journey has been defined by cultivating and managing supplier and internal customer relationships across various regional and global markets. My success is rooted in authenticity, direct communication, and an unwavering commitment to establishing trust and building an extensive professional network. My expertise spans sourcing strategies, inventory management, environmental compliance, sustainability standards, and circular economy principles. This knowledge has been instrumental in developing new business, growing revenue, and achieving win-win results.I had the privilege of working with Glencore, one of the world’s largest global diversified natural resource companies and a major producer and marketer of more than 60 commodities, for more than 17 years. I started as a Copper Metal Operations Professional before relocating as Commercial Manager at Mopani Copper Mines, Plc in Kitwe, Zambia, where I negotiated and optimized contracts for concentrate, blister, scrap, as well as copper cathode and acid sales. In 2016, I transitioned to Glencore LTD as a Commercial Manager (Trader) in New York, and later relocated to Toronto, Canada. My role included growing the North American end-of-life recycling business and focusing on secondary concentrates, pyrite blending, and primary precious metal concentrates. During this time, I grew the secondary copper concentrates business from zero to become a significant contributor to the smelter bottom line. Alongside this growth I trialed the blending of pyrites with the secondary concentrates, creating “synthetic concentrate” aimed at displacing lower margin green concentrates. Additionally, I sourced recycled materials in North America for smelting operations, maintained key supplier relationships, and ensured execution of business in line with contracts. In my earlier career, I worked as an Assistant London Metal Exchange (LME) Trader at Falconbridge and as a Sales Manager at Sita Recycling. My educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in Geology from Imperial College’s Royal School of Mines in London, UK. I further enhanced my skills through leadership programs at Glencore International in Switzerland and various technical and financial appraisal courses in South Africa. My career has been a blend of strategic innovation, hands-on leadership, and a relentless drive for excellence. I am passionate about fostering growth, building lasting relationships, and leveraging my expertise to drive remarkable business outcomes.
