Henry Korman has served as General Counsel at 2Life Communities since August 2020. 2Life is a provider of affordable rental housing to elders in the Boston, Massachusetts area. Henry supports 2Life's mission of supporting and sustaining "aging in community" by providing strategic counsel and internal legal support for 2Life's innovative approach to housing and resident services. He also assists with real estate development and with corporate governance matters. Previously, he was of counsel to Klein Hornig from 2010 to 2013 and became a partner in 2013. Henry's legal practice includes affordable housing development, civil rights, and a wide range of regulatory compliance matters. He has closed numerous complex affordable housing transactions involving Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, HUD insured financing and project-based rental assistance. He is an expert in supportive housing for frail elders, people with disabilities and homeless households. He has represented for-profit and nonprofit developers, property managers, and asset managers in such diverse areas as compliance with the civil rights and fair housing requirements of affordable housing programs, Section 504 of the 1973 Rehabilitation Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Fair Housing Act. Henry is an expert on admission and occupancy standards for public, assisted, and low-income housing tax credit developments, as well as lead-based paint compliance, the Uniform Relocation Act and other laws.
