    Assignment Editor & Content Producer
Nbc News Nov 2015 - Present
    New York, Ny, Us
Results-oriented news gathering expert: I use the latest technology to help select, develop and plan news reporting assignments to be covered in both television newscasts and on the NBC Bay Area web site and on its social media accounts. Schooled at Stanford University in generative artificial intelligence with expertise in prompt engineering. Work with management, producers and reporters on stories of significance to one of the country's most important markets, including stories of national significance often picked up by the national network. Take in information from phone calls, email, texts, and monitor social media accounts and web sites both locally and nationally about possible stories or events to be covered. Facilitate the distribution and retrieval of content through any and all technical means available, including a variety of file-exchange programs like Latakoo, LMX and Dejero; satellite and microwave transmissions; YouTube, Instagram and Facebook. Alert producers to breaking news, including disasters; be someone wishing to make a complaint about corporate or governmental practices, or have information or an opinion about a major decision that a local or state government is making. Sift through hundreds of stories and news releases each day, including those in emails. Use police scanners, listening to traffic between 911 dispatchers and police. Determine what news tips and news releases are the most newsworthy, and then help decide which reporter to assign a story to. If a major story develops – such as a disaster or economic development – enlist several reporters to cover various angles of a story. For instance, if the story is about a plant closing, one reporter may be asked to do the main story about the closing, while other reporters may be asked to do stories on such things as employee reaction, reaction from business and community leaders, a history of the plant, etc. Good knowledge of the region, state, nation and the world.
