Henry P. Davis is a Principal (partner) of Select Equity Group. He is also co-chair of the firm's Executive Committee and a member of the Management, Compensation and Governance Committees.Prior to its acquisition by Aberdeen Asset Management PLC (Aberdeen) in December 2015, Mr. Davis was President of Arden Asset Management LLC (Arden), a hedge fund specialist with over $10 billion in assets that created and managed portfolios for institutional and individual clients. Aberdeen is a global investment management group listed on the London Stock Exchange.At Arden, Mr. Davis was Chairman of the Executive Committee, member of the Investment Committee and Partner of the firm. He was also Chief Executive Officer and Chair of the Board of Directors of Arden Investments Series Trust. Mr. Davis was responsible for several strategic initiatives, including developing Arden's managed account platform for institutional clients in 2014 and leading the team that launched Arden's first mutual fund in 2012. Mr. Davis was also involved in manager research and portfolio management for each of the Arden funds and previously was a Managing Director responsible for supervising Arden’s research activities since 2001. At Aberdeen, Mr. Davis was Senior Investment Advisor and member of the Pan Alternatives Investment Committee from January-March 2016. Prior to joining Arden, Mr. Davis was an investment advisor and an attorney specializing in corporate and asset management work. Mr. Davis is a graduate of Yale Law School and Cornell University, where he graduated summa cum laude and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.At Arden/Aberdeen, Mr. Davis was a regular speaker at investment conferences and forums on alternative investments and has served as a trustee and investment committee chair or member for several charitable endowments and educational institutions.
