Installed as Chief Executive Officer of the Southeastern Chamber of Commerce in 2005, after attending Hampden-Sydney College in Hampden-Sydney VA, Henry L. Ravenel, Jr. leads this organization through a new millennium of success, structure and positive regional impact. He oversees the Chambers Future Agendas and Public Policy activities at the international level, along with the countless day-to-day operations of the organization at large. The Chamber's success across the region has been based on its vitality and ability to stay on the cutting edge of ever changing business and economic trends. As a new chamber, SCC has witnessed the need for a "real powerhouse". The "powerhouse" has provided support to business owners and individual entrepreneurs who have encountered tough advocacy issues that are currently in front of local, state and national government. Prior to building the foundation of the Southeastern Chamber, Henry is a formerly employed Manager with Veolia- an international transit company, and a former employed leader with Kiawah Development Partners Inc., which operates many subsidiaries such as the Doonbeg Golf Club in Ireland, and the Christophe Harbor on the island of St Kitts- West Indies. Henry currently is the succeeding owner of Henry's Transmissions & Roadside Assistance, INC, based out of Ravenel, SC. Additionally; Henry serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Market Street Gentleman Society, a private wealth society based out of Charleston SC. In Camden, SC, he serves as a member of the Camden Military Academy Board of Alumni in the capacity of former Class President & Battalion Adjutant, additionally holding numerous military leadership positions throughout his educational career. Most recently, Henry has been charged with a dual leadership tasks relating to the Southeastern Chamber, and serves as the Executive Board Chairman to its new Board of Governors.

The Charleston Area Black Caucus was founded in January of 2020 as a Political Action Committee (PAC) by a group of local Millennial leaders who desired to ensure that the true influence of the African American Community in Charleston and its surrounding counties would be represented and respected amongst all political dealings within local, state, and national government.The Immediate 5 Year Plan:Register as many black voters as possibleEducate the registered voters on the importance of registering and voting in every election cycleProvide Candidate forums where we vet and endorse candidates whom we believe will speak to the issues of the black communityLobby for issues that impact the black community; namely economic empowerment, social and civic welfare, education and political activityHold fundraiser to build a proper budget and foundation to promote the plans and agendas, along with fostering political education throughout the black community.
