I am responsible for leading engineering initiatives and managing the teams working on satellite communications (SATCOM) infrastructure and software components. These efforts enable the management of our satellite fleet, communication system assets, satellite payload networks, and the delivery of payload data to SAR processing nodes.My primary focus is on ensuring the success of our engineers, overseeing the delivery of critical components, and maintaining the integrity of ICEYE satellite operations. I also play a key role in driving major technical design decisions that have a long-term impact on our projects.This role is a continuation of my previous position as "Head of Satellite Communications Network", with the title and responsibilities adjusted following a company reorganization.

I was responsible for leading the engineering department that ensures effective communication between ground stations and spacecraft. In this role, I oversaw multiple teams, each with specific responsibilities.These teams are charged with establishing highly reliable and high-throughput communication channels between our ground systems and the ICEYE satellite fleet on a global scale. Their tasks cover a wide range of aspects, including planning and configuring contacts, managing the TT&C (Telemetry, Tracking, and Command) chain, downlinking payloads, and maintaining the ground station infrastructure. Additionally, my duties extend to managing the Launch and Early Orbit Phase (LEOP) for ground segment services, overseeing a specific part of satellite fleet operations, and implementing on-call policies, among other responsibilities.

As the technical and team lead, I was responsible for making key technical decisions and designing the architecture for ground segment and satellite constellation control software. This role required proficiency in multiple programming languages, frameworks, and a comprehensive understanding of cloud, embedded, and bare-metal systems, coupled with a strong background in spacecraft engineering. My primary responsibilities shifted several times, ranging from optimizing communications at ground stations to serving as a scrum master. My team collaborated directly with satellite operations and spacecraft engineers. This collaboration led to the development of the "Satellite Communications Network" department, which I established and led. In this capacity, I played a pivotal role in advancing ICEYE's software to the next level of maturity and scale. Additionally, I managed Launch and Early Orbit Phase (LEOP) activities within the software department and oversaw on-call responsibilities.Learned:- Enhanced my leadership skills.- Strengthened my proficiency in software engineering tools and deepened my knowledge in the spacecraft domain.- Took on significant responsibilities in critical projects, leading to successful outcomes.- Improved my ability to write and deliver clean code, and instilled the same principles in team members.

Ground segment software is used for the satellite mission operations. This includes, for example, telemetry and beacon handling, pass calculations and working with a large infrastructure with multiple different technologies and frameworks. In this position, I wrote the first fully production-scale software for pass management, payload handling and telemetry analysis at ICEYE mainly with Python - by mainly rewriting the original software used in the first satellite development. The software was successfully used in early launches of ICEYE satellites. I continued in this position directly after finishing my master’s thesis.Learned:- Multiple new software development technologies- Improved my code quality- Familiarized with new coding conventions- Deepened my understanding of spacecraft systems- Improved myself as a member of the team

I was working as a software engineer and simultaneously writing my master’s thesis about development and engineering analysis for mission critical satellite flight software. Master’s thesis was finished in May 2017. The other work involved maintaining software for telemetry analysis and generation which I made alongside the actual thesis.Learned:- Applied multiple software development tools on hardware driven systems- Deepened my overall understanding of spacecraft engineering by analysing spacecraft and creating tools for testing and handling generated data- Improved scientific writing skills by writing the thesis

As a consultant in the DevOps unit, I contributed to the development of solutions for third-generation software development, focusing on virtualization, modern software production tools, continuous integration, and test automation. My involvement spanned various projects, including the creation of an autonomous payment terminal test robot, which utilized a CNC mill frame and OpenCV technology. Additionally, I worked on an automatic acceptance testing library for a mobile game, the creation of CI/CD pipelines for diverse industrial fields, and the development of coaching materials for Robot Framework.Learned:- Wide range of modern software production tools, such as Docker, Ansible, Jenkins- Improved testing practices especially in ATDD using Robot Framework- Working better directly with clients, as consultants do

My major role was to develop satellite on-board computer software focusing on data handling software following ECSS-E-70-41A.
