• Studied multi-photon direct laser writing on polymeric photoresists for the development of micro-structures; systematically studied the effect of pre-exposure bake-time on solvent content and structure quality; developed optimal processing conditions that yielded high adhesion structures; performed routine characterization of micro-structures with scanning electron microscopy (SEM).• Developed analytical model used to interpret and predict feature size; elucidated dominant non-linear absorption mechanisms; explored how absorption mechanism is affected by various processing parameters.• Developed melt reflow process to prepare optical fibers bearing SU-8 optical microdevives (lens, photonic crystals, etc) on the tip of optical fibers; characterized the output of optic fibers bearing various refractive devices.• Studied the photophysical properties of chalcogenide glass (As2S3) for the purpose of multi-photon direct laser writing.• Fabricated three-dimensional body-centered cubic photonic crystal templates for the study of effective negative refraction and super lensing in the optical regime.• Trained and supervised undergraduates in laboratory research; assisted in research reports and proposals; reviewed articles in peer reviewed technical journals (Optics Express, ect…); performed experimentation and maintenance with chemical and optical lab equipment.
