Throughout my life, I have been utterly fascinated by the natural world and have endeavored to always learn more about it. This has taken me to many different places, and to the University of Rochester, where I graduated in May 2020 with a Bachelor's of Science in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. I worked as a Saltz Intern at the American Museum of Natural History in high school, where I taught visitors to the museum about the exhibits and the science they represent, and that experience made me passionate about both learning and teaching science. To that end, I have worked as a volunteer for Jamaica Bay Terrapin Research, where I assisted in the conservation of turtles by working on them in the field. I also spent a summer working at the American Museum of Natural History's Southwestern Research Station, where I assisted many of the scientists there on research projects from disciplines as varied as entomology, geology, and ornithology, all in the field. My experience there crystallized my passion to protect and better understand our environment, and I am currently seeking opportunities that would allow me to take that passion and develop it further. We are currently changing our environment, and, as such, have a duty to learn about it, and protect what we still can. I currently work at Camp Tamarack as a camp instructor outside of Sisters, OR. With outdoor school starting Sep 14th, 2021, I'm really excited to be learning more about environmental education and taking the lessons I learn with me as I continue down my career in environmental education.
