I am currently a second-year Doctor of Dental Surgery candidate at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. Before starting dental school, I earned a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Minnesota College of Biological Sciences.As an undergrad, I worked as a research assistant in Dr. Paul Robbins’s lab, part of the Minnesota Medical Discovery Teams and the Institute on the Biology of Aging and Metabolism (iBAM). Collaborating with Dr. Allancer Nunes, I studied senescent cells and the effects of various senotherapeutics on multiple human cell lines. To date, I have 4 accepted abstracts, 2 poster presentations, and a paper under review.After graduating, I continued my research as a pre-doctoral research fellow in Dr. Kim Mansky’s lab, focusing on osteoclast differentiation in mouse mandible and femur bone marrow cells. This work aimed to understand gene-related impacts on osteoclast differentiation to reduce mandibular bone diseases.As I develop my treatment philosophy, I focus on a patient-centered approach where comfort, care, and understanding are essential. I believe in taking the time to ensure each patient feels at ease and fully comprehends the treatment planned for them. I'm striving to create a collaborative environment, where patients are active participants in their oral health journey. My end goal is to combine my clinical expertise with a compassionate approach, focusing on individualized care that addresses both the immediate and long-term needs of my patients.I'm excited to pursue a career in dentistry and academics, with a focus on general dentistry, dental anesthesia, and dental sleep medicine.
