As the Technology Solutions Architect (Canada), I am responsible for supporting our various clientel on large and/or complex projects, with particular emphasis on Data Center design, planning and building. Acting as a trusted advisor with clients to assess their business needs and what the best options are to use technology to meet those needs and achieve their goals. I specifically support large end-user clients, as well as the consulting, architectural and integration partners that are often involved in large and/or complex capital projects.Working with their IT, Facilities, Broadcast, Consulting/Engineering, and Construction Teams I help provide the linkages between business needs and the technology infrastructures and solutions that can help fulfull those needs.I work across all verticals and geographical areas, however I do specialize in special purpose designs such as Data Centers, Healthcare Facilities, Airports etc.

The committee’s standards work covers requirements for copper and optical fiber cabling components (such as cables, connectors and cable assemblies), installation, and field testing in addition to the administration, pathways and spaces to support the cabling.

Also, this Subcommittee develops and maintains telecommunications cabling standards for premises networks such as commercial buildings, data centers, building automation, etc. This Subcommittee specifies cabling system topology, architecture, design, installation, testing and performance requirements.

It provides an unequaled opportunity to work with the best and brightest in our industry globally as well as accross both industry and functional verticals. It is a pleasure and challenge to continue to be a part of the team that provides technological and design leadership to the industry, our constituents, readers and document users.The TR-42.3 Subcommittee develops and maintains standards for telecommunications pathways and spaces. These standards include guidelines and recommendations for design, installation, and construction. We develop generic requirements for premises as well as specific recommendations for specific applications and/or premises types (e.g. data centers, industrial etc.)
