-I am currently a graduate student pursuing my Masters in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Alabama with expected graduation in December of 2016.-Clinical training includes 4 weeks of medical and surgical training in a variety of specialties in eluding emergency medicine, cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, and intensive care.-Previous clinical experience prior to entering graduate school includes 2 years of hospital-based employment as a Certified Nursing Assistant on the Pediatric Cardiac ICU as well as other units at Arnold Palmer Hospital.-Skills acquired in the pediatric ICU include EKG machine use, reading EKGs, phlebotomy, post-operative patient care, familiarity of IV pumps, AEDs, and blood transfusion protocol, and helping patients ambulate, eat, and bathe.-Graduated cum laude from the University of Florida with a bachelor's of health science with a 3.91 GPA.-Over 40 PA and physician shadowing hours in a primary care, intensive care, and surgical setting.-Over 80 volunteer hours at Health Central hospital helping patients eat, transporting them between units, and spending time talking with them.
