About Jason Henry, Ed.D

I started in education in 1997, taking my first job as a Mathematics Teacher at Daniel Boone High School. Along with teaching I was the Varsity Club Adviser, Ski Club Adviser, Asst. Girls Varsity Basketball Coach, and the Head Varsity Baseball Coach.In 2001, I made a move to Parkland School District where I spent 6 more years in the classroom and coaching basketball and baseball. I have worked as a Technology Integration Coach and Coordinator of Educational Technology for 5 years. As a Technology Integration Coach and Coordinator of Educational Technology , my major responsibility was assisting teachers with the use of technology for effective teaching and learning.I am currently working as the Director of Teaching and Learning for Secondary Education. I have always excelled with technology, but my true driving force into education was curriculum and instruction. Having strong technology background just makes the job more exciting. I have recently been flooded with initiatives as anyone in the profession completely understands. I have been using technology to "flip" professional development for teachers. Among the top of the initiatives are shifting to the PA Common Core Standards, Keystone Assessments, Teacher Effectiveness, Data Driven Instruction, and STEM.
