I have been advising business owners all of my career. Firstly as a lawyer, and for the last 20+ years as a corporate finance adviser – why? Meeting some amazing people, getting a look into their smart ideas and helping them realise their goals of trying to sell their business or to raise capital.I am very privileged to opine on other people’s hard work, but those judgement calls, based on experience are hugely rewarding when for example, you help a business, or its shareholders realise a long sought after goal.I am now Head of Consumer at the Cavendish Group, which is an entrepreneurial, employee-owned, award-winning broker and financial adviser. The business mantra is about delivering its client ambitions in both the public and private capital markets and I work with colleagues across all of Cavendish’s service lines to provide a "sector specialist, product agnostic" service to our Consumer clients.I am also a Partner and Head of Consumer of the M&A advisory business. Here, I lead the consumer team, M&A transactions and provide corporate finance advice to our clients, where I have focused on mid-market companies and investors.
