I have over 20 years of financial management experience in several corporate environments: ASX-listed, private and commercial-based government organisations. Industry exposure includes utilities & engineering (power and water), media and financial services.My credentials include strong commercial, financial management and governance skills. I am experienced in working with newly listed and high-growth companies to bring about the disciplines of planning, financial control, governance and systems into those less-mature organisations. I am able to articulate strategy to financial plans, identify high-low scenarios and partner operational management to convert those strategies into financial and commercial reality. I am technically sound across the full spectrum of finance functions from tax to treasury to reporting to forecasting.My management style can be described as collaborative and engaging. My approach is to build teamwork and support, to lead by example by providing one-to-one coaching input to staff. I am able to negotiate through challenges at all levels of the organisation (external stakeholders, regulators, board, C-level and shop-floor staff) and am capable of managing cross-functional teams, having taken responsibility for IT, legal, compliance, marketing and human resources at executive levels.Recent experience includes preparations for IPO, capital and debt restructuring, process re-engineering, systems implementation, profit enhancement, M&A, due diligence and restructuring in the wake of adverse operating conditions. At a personal level I am a devoted family man with interests in travel, photography, restoration of a Triumph TR6 and cycling.
