About Henry (Harry) Knott
I have recently completed my reading of MSc Model Based Drug Development at the University of Manchester where I learnt the fundamentals and advanced uses of Physiologically-Based Pharmacokinetic (PBPK) modelling as well as Population Pharmacokinetic (PopPK) modelling. I successfully implemented PBPK-PD, PK-PD models within MATLAB and NONMEM, receiving 80 for my implementation and subsequent report on a multi-compartmental, multi-dose, multi-effect PK-PD model. I also achieved 72 for my report on a perfusion-limited minimal PBPK model, which I coded in MATLAB.I have hands on experience with SimCyp, Monolix, Phoenix NLME, MATLAB, NONMEM (+Pirana), R and SPSS.I am looking for employment opportunities within PBPK or PK/PD modelling in Europe, with an anticipated start date in 2025.My biochemistry degree has made me into a more well-rounded scientist, having exposed me to many topics, including proteomics, virology, glycobiology, genomics, cell biology, toxicity, as well as drug discovery, development and chemistry. I have wet lab experience and have had exposure to various protocols and apparatus, including PCR, gel electrophoresis, primer design, GFP-tagging, fluorescence microscopy and ultracentrifugation.I achieved a 1.1 for my dissertation studying subcellular localisation of transfected mRNA constructs in migratory confluent bEND5 cells.

Novice Men Captain
Initially I organised and ran learn to row sessions with the novice women’s captain for the first four weeks of semester one. During this I taught brand new rowers the basics of rowing, culminating in the novice race day for the North West hosted by Liverpool University Boat Club. The learn to row course took a long time to produce and required careful planning and liaising with many members of the club and externally to ensure that the new rowers had the most complete programme possible. It was incredible to see the progress that many of the novices made over those four weeks.I recruited new rowers at two sports fairs proactively engaging with freshers and promoting the club to them. Those types of interactions do not come naturally to me and I became increasingly confident during the events, resulting in over 60 people signing up for the learn to row course.Those that wanted to continue after learn to row joined their respective novice squads. I was responsible for developing the novice men through coaching, organising their races and deciding the direction of MUBC through my contributions to the committee. I was also tasked with the squads welfare, being their first point of contact for any issues they had and using my experience at UoM I was able to navigate difficult issues and resolve conflicts that arose quickly and effectively.It was a very rewarding role and often very challenging in terms of both the day to day coaching as well as balancing with an intense masters degree. It was the first role I’ve had where I was in charge of people enabling me to develop managerial and teaching experience.
