Shift Workspace grew out of Birmingham Jelly. Jelly is casual coworking, a once-a-week work meet-up usually in a coffee shop but sometimes in someone's apartment. Jelly actually began in an apartment in Manhattan.Same kind of crowd- programmers, developers, designers, writers- now meet up in over 40 cities worldwide, usually on Fridays, and work along side each other. Jelly also began in 2006.Birmingham Jelly was started by Todd Sundsted in 2008, and has been sustained and organized since they through the tireless efforts of Henry McBride. The community carry-over from Jelly to Shift Workspace has been the handiwork of Henry and Andre Natta of The Terminal. Thanks guys! We wouldn't be where we are without the love!

I helped setup the user group. The purpose was to spread the word about the OLPC and help with development and deployment efforts. And to help give kids a chance to see it in action.

Organized and ran an event with the purpose of getting startups off the ground in a weekend. We sucessfully ran 2 of these events. In the end we went with a 2 weekend format. The first weekend was a business development weekend and 2nd weekend was a development weekend.
