As a member of the Aspen University Computer Science and Information Technology Advisory Board, I offer my fact-based point of view as to the direction and course relevance of the curriculum designed to support our students. I have sat in course design meetings to better understand how students will react and accept the new courses.

As an adjunct professor of cybersecurity, I have developed unique teaching methods that use embedded processor systems, virtual systems, computers, routers, switches, and other network elements. I was a member of the NextGen TV (ATSC 3.0) Research and Development team, whose primary objective is to innovate, build, and support the rapid expansion of the next-generation IP broadcast platform. We carry out activities that include but are not limited to:» Providing cybersecurity research and development testing for ATSC3.0-enabled setup boxes, ATSC3.0-enabled television units, and ATSC3.0 dongles» Development of SH, BASH, PYTHON, and TCL scripts for systems analysis and testing artificial intelligence (AI) and design» Support verification and validation testing of receivers in the lab on mobile phones, tablets, TVs, and gateways» Installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems (OS), application software, virtual machines, and management tools to keep lab servers/ broadcast air chains up to dateA few highlights of my achievements include:★ I was credited for saving $3M in revenue over two years by creating a system to tell if AI was being used to enhance attack vectors in cybersecurity. ★ I wrote a peer-review paper on AI's role in the future of broadcast and cybersecurity.★ I spearheaded the effort to create and adequately design protocol analysis captures of video streams.★ I played a vital role in vetting and interviewing candidates to recruit new team members.★ I made a suggestion that was implemented, which was to test a new platform for the storage of captured data, and I was responsible for writing the program to complete the task.★ I was then commissioned to monitor, test, and turn up the new system, which was handed over to other senior engineers.

I provided leadership to this movement by protecting the network from security breaches, which included designing and enforcing policies and procedures, identifying vulnerabilities, and collaborating with other departments to resolve issues. A few highlights of my achievements include:★ My strong leadership during a security breach prevented significant company assets and revenue loss.★ I was accredited for saving $500K in possible network damage by quickly providing MPLS connectivity to 3 locations for grounding network superstructure, reinstating network assets, and developing connections with the telecom companies.★ By saving an old-age system using Kubernetes and Containerization to hold the system, I effectively managed the organization's financial stability while allowing for the use of the protections of a newer system.★ Managed IT Security and developed Scripts to monitor features of the switching and routing of traffic in the data center.

I helped project managers better understand the vendor’s explanation of technical issues, and I worked as a subject matter expert in cybersecurity, video systems, closed-circuit television cameras and systems, fiber optics, network design, and surveillance. A few highlights of my achievements include: ★ I led a team of engineers in creating a prototype and installing the first phase of a video surveillance system, bringing in a revenue of $300K.★ I brought in $500K in revenue by leading an engineering team for the Johns Hopkins Subway Air Monitoring Project to redo the old air monitoring system, including gathering specifications and researching costs for budget preparation.★ I created a revenue of $100K by directing an engineering team to test the parameters of the MTA on-bus network, including cybersecurity measures.

I spearheaded six significant projects, which involved testing antenna systems for military and civilian vendors, setting up network and computer systems for test facilities within the company, developing parallel processing computer systems for antenna modeling, creating Shell Scripts for calculating and compiling the signal strength readings (VSWR, and NF, FF signal dynamics), among other duties. I directed a team in creating a program that would allow for the use of LabView with a UNIX system to calculate the VSWR values of the LabView system. This solution was implemented because the LabView system could not calculate the total Isotropic Radiator values. A few highlights of my achievements include:★ I went beyond my job description to lead the testing and capturing of data for a particular order of powered vertical antenna systems.★ I recruited, trained, and coached two interns, one of whom was promoted to Lab Manager.★ By working as a team with the two interns I recruited, I prevented clients’ files from being infected with a virus by discovering that the solution was to initiate the heuristic scan module after recognizing that the updated antivirus was ineffective.

I worked on seven major projects as an integral leader and member of the technical team, including:» Systems testing of fiber network equipment optical line terminal and optical network terminal» Data recovery and hardware maintenance of damaged systems» FiOS systems testing (fiber optic and electronics)» Digital subscriber line data throughput testing» Technology systems review process» Development of intellectual property for Verizon Laboratories (14 US Patents)» Developed ISO 9000 compliance training (server setup)A few highlights of my achievements include:★ I directed the technical team in building a cable TV studio that reduced costs by $300K. ★ I was directly responsible for saving Verizon Telecom $1M+ in revenue by using a team to build test facilities in 2 locations. ★ I also saved $200K in training expenses by managing a team of 5 specialists in training corporate personnel at the DSL/FiOS data network operations center.

As a manager on the Verizon ADSL network's Tier II technical support team, I was in charge of a group of specialists who supported internal customers in resolving problems related to hardware maintenance of ATM switches and RedBack SMS portions of the ADSL network. » Worked with other Tier II groups assigned to the other network portions.» Provided instruction for newer members of the Tier II organization in introductory UNIX and Introductory Linux, ATM theory, and an Introduction to ATM. » Served as the Manager of the Systems Administrator group for the Dell Poweredge 2300 Linux Test Server Network.

As a Tier II technical support team manager for the Verizon ADSL network, I was in charge of a group of specialists to support internal customers in resolving problems related to the ATM switch and Red Back SMS portions of the ADSL network. I worked with other Tier II groups assigned to the other network portions.I provided Instruction for newer members of the Tier II organization in introductory UNIX and Introductory Linux, ATM theory, and an Introduction to ATM.
