Supervise and assist in developing a group of revenue accountants and analysts into a revenue team (within the finance dept.). Develop the foundations for a new branch of the revenue team to be focused on order management and customer on-boarding experience. Handle complex client-facing Global Deal Desk issues that bubble up through the sales/contracts and billing operations processes. Review (initial and secondary) customer contracts and evaluate for appropriate revenue recognition treatment in accordance with revenue recognition policies (ASC 606), collaborate with cross-functional teams including Legal, Sales, Operations and Finance. Summarize key terms, issues and seek approvals, as needed. Evaluate non-standard contract terms and identify relevant accounting, billing, and operational impacts. Ensure approvals for non-standard deals/contracts have been properly documented, escalated to the right approval levels, and resolved within reasonable time frames. Review new customer creation, account and rate setup. Review monthly spend trackers for various contract commitments and related pricing changes. Collaborate cross-functionally to investigate and respond to revenue inquiries and troubleshoot any issues. Serve as a subject matter expert on deal operations and/or the revenue accounting cycle to identify and implement process improvements. Establish new processes/accounting analysis for monthly and quarterly close activities, including SOX controls, as needed. Ensure accurate customer contract setup, modifications, and terminations, so that sales are processed per revenue recognition requirements. Set up and manage customer rate cards within the company’s platform ensuring completeness and accuracy of all contracts and changes. Follow policies and systems to assist in efficient and accurate revenue accounting. Assist in review of revenue contracts. Summarize key terms, issues and seek approvals as needed; document contract changes and/or new customer contracts. Work with external auditors (Big 4) to provide contract, rate card information, approvals, and other support requested. Support external SEC reporting and SOX processes as needed. Process all client facing documents (e.g. invoices, credit memos, etc.) according to financial requirements and in compliance with all SOX reporting requirements. Ensure all billable activities are accurately captured in the billing process and billing terms and calculations are in accordance with customer agreements (Bill Cycle).
