About Henry Scriven-Young

Henry Scriven-Young is a seasoned leader, manager, and intern with over a half decade of experience in campaign and official-side politics. He is a student at George Washington University (GW) where he serves as an Executive Assistant to the Student Body President, a member of the Student Advisory Panel on dining, and runs a radio show that airs each week at midnight. He is fluent in English and has an intermediate medium proficiency in Chinese. He also has a passion for building community and enabling others to achieve their goals and potential.Henry wears many hats at GW. In his current roles, he serves customers IT needs as a member of GW's IT department, advises staff and leads students as they navigate GW's newly created dining program, and serves in the student government by working closely with the student body president.He has devoted his life to service and serves his GW community daily. As a member of NRHH, Henry has been serving the nearly 12,000 students who live on campus. In addition, Henry has served students from within the Student Government. As Executive Assistant, Henry has overseen nearly 55 projects in the Spring semester alone and has helped projects cross the finish line with more than a 90% success rate. Over the course of 5 months, Henry has spent his time and energy bringing students the changes they have been asking for.He has also helped to deliver numerous campaign victories for candidates across Illinois. He has worked for Congresswoman Lauren Underwood as a Youth Fellow and volunteer since 2020, worked as a finance intern for Congressman Bill Foster in 2022 and 2023, and worked as an intern for the Illinois Democratic County Chairs Association (IDCCA) this past summer. He has a track record of performing above expectations, effectively training/managing coworkers, and providing clear and consistent communication.
