Responsible for developing a portfolio of projects targeting nuclear receptors and designing numerous high content phenotypic screens to identify novel chemical matter. Contributed to redesigning the internal Hit to Lead process. Also have a significant responsibility on a high priority effort to improve external innovation by investigating local academic labs, biotech companies, and venture capital firms to identify technologies or other assets of interest to Sanofi.

I lead the Molecular Genomics Section with responsibilities including supervision and development of ~22 people performing high throughput sequencing, cloning, automation and transcript profiling. Global project lead for a compound 'deorphaning' project - successfully identified mechanism of action and primary protein target for a novel oncology compound using a wide variety of molecular approaches and data mining. Responsible for laboratory informatics and automation technology development in a cutting edge molecular biology department. Supervised three MS level research associates. Worked on the design of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) for sequencing workflow, clone management and transcriptional profiling that incorporate both computer and handheld (PDA) device interfaces. Helped implement significant components of the technology transfer agreement between Aventis and Millennium.

Responsible for process automation at CuraGen. Automated high throughput PCR reactions, dye primer and dye terminator sequencing chemistry, and developed numerous custom liquid handling applications using a variety of platforms. Suggested and implemented numerous improvements for key company process including sequencing and quantitative expression analysis.
