The WNY STEM Hub mobilizes schools and stakeholders to develop, nurture and maximize interest in STEM learning and careers through hands-on, one-of-a kind experiences. Its purpose is to collaborate with the WNY community to empower learners through the creation of life changing STEM experiences - such as Hand in Hand, Girls Coding, Coding Your Future, Schools on the Move and Take Flight Space Experiments Programs - to tackle careers in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math). WNY STEM Hub is an initiative of the United Way of Buffalo and Erie County, the UB Center for Integrated Global Biomedical Sciences and the Empire State STEM Learning Network. Serving nearly 30,000 guests including nearly 4,000 students through school tours.• Annual budget of approximately $750,000, 7 full-time employees, 4 part time staff and 4 seasonal staff and historic interpreters, Board of Trustees/Advisory Board and a base of over 300 volunteers. • Successfully transitioned a forty-year museum department of the Town of Amherst into a non-profit organization initially spun off in 2011. Pre-transition museum statistics: Nearly 1 million in revenue and nearly 30 full time staff.• Transition milestones: Recovered and rebuilt a staff from a difficult four-year period. Rebranded from local to regional mission and implementing a previous name change. Completing and updating all necessary nonprofit documentation policies, by-laws, permits, etc. Redesigned the museum and board organizational committee structure and a board recruitment strategy. Negotiated a one-year $475,000 extension. Developed and implemented a staff reduction plan to compensate for $100,000 reduction in town subsidy. Initiated a re-interpretation plan beginning with an outside consultant re-imagination study.• Successfully diversified funding to reduce town financial dependence from over 80% to approximately 65%. Increased Erie County funding from $0 to over $30,000 annually. Increased NYS funding from 0 to nearly $100,000 in special project educational funding. Obtained the museum’s first legacy gift of $145,000. Hired a grant-writer and recruited a more robust Development Committee. Increased revenue streams within the following campaigns: Bi-annual giving, Special events, Exhibits/Event in-kind and sponsorships, Adopt-A-House, Legacy giving. Initiated friend-building campaign to build donor base.

The German-American Musicians "Buffalo's BIG German Band!" is dedicated to the performance and preservation of the traditional musical culture of German-speaking lands! There are two principal performing groups: the G.A.M. Blaskapelle and the G.A.M. Konzert-Kapelle.The G.A.M. Blaskapelle keeps the dance floor full and the beer flowing with a fast-paced selection of festive traditional party music: waltzes, Rheinlanders, polkas, and a wealth of traditional favorites from a huge repertory that delights audiences of all ages -- all played with the authentic verve and style of the Biergartens of old!The G.A.M. Konzert-Kapelle is a slightly larger, more formal concert wind group and appears in December bringing German Christmas traditions to life in various communities and in church services in and about the western New York state area.

I served the over 100 Scouting programs in the Southern half of Erie County, NY. I provided leadership to implement adult training, membership recruitment, relationships and marketing, budget management and fundraising, programming, and other types of support to keep the Boy Scouts of America strong for 3,000 youth in South Buffalo, Lackawanna and the southtowns.

Ride Routes, The Ride For Roswell Cycling Event September 2008-June 2010 $2.3 million yearly fundraising event; 8,000 riders and volunteers. Coordinated all Ride Route Functions including: rest stop planning and support, route safety & emergency management, route planning, rider training, emergency services liaison, Amherst Police Department Communications coordination. Implemented extensive safety and emergency plan. Introduced and utilized Incident Command System (ICS) to elevate event safety levels. Sponsorship & marketing solicitation, donor cultivation and stewardship, social networking.

Provided customer service and information, outreach and volunteer coordination. Administrative functions including; record keeping, communications, designing literature. Served as program manager for all programs at a summer youth camp. Duties included: staff recruitment, education/training, and performance reviews; managing programs, supervision, safety/risk management, housing, equipment, facilities, budgets, and many other aspects of camp operations. Coordinated programs/activities/sports for more than 2,500 camp visitors annually. Hired and managed a 60-person youth and adult staff to implement age-appropriate programs. Engaged sales and promotions of programs and facilities to grow program participants. Trained, mentored and prepared new staff within one-week to run an entire summer camp.
