Running 2 national terrestrial radiostations, 100% NL and Slam!, as well as numerous online-radiochannels

Writing and presenting newsstories for the major Dutch commercial radiostations. The ANP is the Dutch equivalent of Reuters in the UK, or Associated Press in the USA (or as you like, DPA in Germany or AFP in France).

ANRS was a company I founded out of my work as a newspresenter of Radio Noordzee. The idea was to compete with the Dutch press-agency ANP on 'audio-newscasts' for radiostations. We did that for 2 years, got quite a few interesting clients, and then the company merged with our rivals of the ANP.

Writing and presenting newsstories on this -at that time- very big Dutch commercial radiostation here in the Netherlands. But also some other jobs; like producing radioshows.

Alongside my work for Noordzee, I also worked a lot in this period for Classic FM, then owned by Classic FM UK. The station still exists, but nowadays it's part of the Dutch Sky Radio Group, with no involvement from the UK anymore.

Amsterdam

Radio 10 is the oldest commercial radiostation in the Netherlands. The station launched on April 4th 1988 and I had the honour to present the first newscast at 7AM that day. As of 2013 I'm the director and co-owner of this particular radiostation.

Super 106 was a low-power station just accross the Belgian border, but it was relayed throughout the south of the Netherlands on cablesystems long before commercial radio in the Netherlands became legal.

Northsea

I worked as a DJ and newspresenter for the offshore radiostation Radio Monique, on board the radioship Ross Revenge in international waters of the Northsea. The other radiostation on this same vessel was the legendary Radio Caroline.

Nijmegen

Delta Radio was one of the major landbased pirate radiostations in the Netherlands. Allthough illegal, the station was on the air 24 hours a day and very succesful in the region it was broadcasting to. Across the street there was another legendary landbased pirate; Keizerstad. I worked as a fill in DJ for the illegal Keizerstad in the late 1980's, while already on the legal Radio 10. While at Delta, I got raided 16 times by the authorities for illegal broadcasting.

Brussels

In the years 1981-1983 I basically started my professional radiocareer with the so called 'Free Radio's" (Vrije Radio's) in Belgium. Non-licensed but slightly tolerated commercial radiostations with reasonable transmitter-power. In 1981 I spent my summer holiday with the very first Dutch language private broadcaster Radio Gemini in French-speaking area Moucron. In 1982 I was involved with powerstation Radio Seven, and in 1983 joined Radio Contact in Brussels.
