Provides reviews with operational boundary partners & compiles information for detailed method of procedures & when needed.•Creates network change tickets in line with current processes & validates conflicts to ensure no unnecessary outages.•Partners with Operations & Engineering to test & validate functionality, management &performance for existing & new technologies.•Supports implementation of new services, systems, applications & architectures with installation, configuration, integration, evaluation, testing, documentation, & training.•Works with vendors to ensure equipment is installed & operating properly & resolves problems. •Manages small, more routine projects within Operations to confirm delivery intervals & validate critical dates & milestones to ensure delivery of services stay on target.•Coordinates with other departments to ensure the network is available & configured to exceed market demands. •Compiles information for network infrastructure operational standards.•Participates in industry bodies monitoring technologies, proposals, and issues of technical interest & relevance to network operations. •Provides basic engineering & operational support to other groups such as Cox Business, Provisioning, & Network Engineering.•Assists with coaching & mentoring of junior technicians & Cox tiered support teams.•Prepares& delivers technical documentation & presentations.•Ensures long term technology goals are consistent operationally across all groups.•Partners with change management for impact identification, network validation, MOP creation and execution of activities.•Opens, tracks, executes, and resolves escalated trouble tickets from Tier III related to outages and trouble conditions on network platforms. Provides on-site & remote technical support for all Cox transmission media Partners.•Partners with Vendors when needed to validate bugs etc. for break fix.•Provides post-incident information & details for documentation when needed.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES Provides advanced technical support and problem resolution for Cox Business Enterprise customers. Configures aggregate devices, routers, CMTS, optical access, DWDM equipment that carries video, data, and telephony traffic. Ensures proper functionality and reliability of the optical multiplexers, switches and routers by alerting team of required maintenance and repairsPerforms software upgrades to optical multiplexers and IP solutions according to engineering specifications. Provisions, tests, maintains, and repairs some or all of the following equipment: OC-192/48/12/3 multiplexers DWDM DACS Cisco routers Cisco switches Cisco Optical Networking Channel banks DS3 multiplexers Digital loop carriers DSX-1 and DSX-3 cross-connect panels Data Services Voice Services Works with NOC, Fiber Construction, RF Headend technicians, Switch technicians and Test Desk technicians to identify and resolve network problems affecting voice, video and data services. Uses the following applications for implementation, service, test and acceptance (Remedy, NetSmart, SAM, Preside, Granite, Procomm Plus, Secure CRT). Uses provided tools remotely to troubleshoot, diagnose and document system failures (T-Bend 224, OSA, OTDR, Light meter), and vendor specific technology management tools. Performs both internal and external escalation on all hardware and software failures, circuit troubles and all optical multiplexer-s related outages to comply with Cox standards and provides feedback to vendors on network equipment issues. Coordinates with Network Service Operations Acts as subject matter expert for emerging technologies as they pertain to optical multiplexers, Data and/or Voice networks. Analyzes and develops solutions for failures and outages at a highly advanced level (Tier II) before referring to 3rd level support. Functions on a 24-hour call-in basis.
